Walk to School

October is 'Walk to School' month. Vic Health supports walking to/from school as a way of promoting daily exercise and reducing traffic around schools. Now that the weather is warming up, it is a great opportunity to get out and about. If you live an impracticable distance from school, you could consider parking the car several blocks away and having a nice long walk. Children can also ride bikes or scooters (don't forget your helmets!) - any form of exercise counts. We have a checklist in our rooms to record children's walks and rides to school, with a certificate at the end of the month for all participants.

Grade 2 teachers have also availed themselves each Friday during October to walk to school with children. We will be at the Lara Library at 8:30a.m. If you would like to walk with us - meet us there! Parents and siblings are also welcome, but no bikes or scooters, please.

Happy walking!

Bluearth

Another term of Bluearth is almost done!
Let's check out some photos.

Skills practice:
Throwing, catching, coordination, balance
and spatial awareness.

Dog Pound:
If you get tagged by the dog catcher, you go to the pound. You stay there until someone rescues you.

Skittle Soccer:
Guard your own skittle, but see if you can knock down other people's skittles by kicking the ball at them. This is our favourite game. It is much more fun than it looks in the photos!

Book Fair - 5th-9th September

Please think about supporting this term's Book Fair as it is a fabulous fundraiser for our school. The Book Fair is located in Room 11 and is open before and after school each day this week.

Geronimo Skilton says to read more books!
