Book Week

Congratulations to the children from 2B, 2J and 2N who shared their favourite class book at a special whole school assembly celebrating Book Week. Our favourites were 'The Enchanted Woods' and 'The BFG'. Parents, do you remember reading these books when you were young?

Congratulations also to our very own grade 2 reading superstar who has borrowed more books than any other student in the school - 78 books!

ES Week

Lara Primary School has many fabulous staff who are not teachers, but who are just as important in making our school amazing. These wonderful people are our Education Support - or ES - staff. The grade 2 students and teachers would like to honour our office staff; our cleaning staff; Ann in the canteen; Mrs Menzies and Mrs Porter in the library; Mark, our maintenance man; Jan, our crossing supervisor; Steve and Rueben, our ICT support; and especially our integration aides: Mrs Bewley, Miss McCabe, Miss Murphy, Mrs Noonan and Mrs Spalding, for helping to make our school and classrooms run smoothly. THANK YOU ALL AND HAPPY ES WEEK!
Our aides are worth their weight in gold!
(Missing but also worth their weight in gold: Miss McCabe and Miss Murphy)

Bluearth

Monday is Skills Day in Bluearth. Here we are, refining our ball handling skills.

Art Work - $10

The Whole School Art Show is over, but it's not too late to purchase your child's art work. All unsold items will still be available over the next few weeks. And, if you love your child's art so much that you'd like to collect the whole set, Mrs Hartshorne may have more of your child's paintings available for framing and sale.

Maths Prize

Check outside Mrs Bennett's door for regular maths challenges. At the moment, the challenges are all 'groups of' questions, because we are learning about multiplication. Fill in your answer and your name, pop it in the box, and you may win a prize! Good luck!

Art Show

Congratulations to all of our children for the beautiful art work that is displayed outside our rooms. They sure do brighten up our corridor!

The grade 2s have enjoyed perusing the work throughout the school. It was fun finding paintings by brothers, sisters, friends and Buddies.

Art work is on display for all of Week 5, and sold work will be sent home on Friday afternoon. All children's paintings can be purchased for $10, and money raised goes directly towards children's resources. Paintings can be purchased through QKR! or the office.

Special thanks go to Mrs Hartshorne for coordinating such an enormous and impressive art show.

The Art Show
At the assembly people got an award for
great behaviour and work in the art room. Yesterday 2J went for a walk around the school to see the art work that students from  Lara Primary School had done

At the Art Show some people got an award for their beautiful work and trying their hardest and their personal best, but all the people in the school have beautiful work. 2J walked around the school looking at art work. We saw some lovely art work. My mum bought my art work because it has a red sticker.
