Remembering our ANZACs

We have honoured our ANZACs in many ways over the last couple of weeks.

We walked through the Avenue of Honour, then stopped to read names at the Memorial Gates. We also had a look at the new ANZAC Centenary Memorial Stone and garden at the sporting ovals.

Mrs Newman was a wealth of information and children were thoughtful and respectful.

We baked ANZAC biscuits in class, and read and wrote procedural texts (recipes) of how to cook them. Lachlan in 2J told us that ANZAC biscuits were good food for soldiers because they were cooked without egg and milk so they lasted a long time. We know that lots of children have been baking ANZAC biscuits with their families, too. Yummo!

Thanks to everyone for their wonderful contributions to our ANZAC Day Show and Tell week. We've seen badges, shared biscuits and have been honoured to have had some very special family treasures shared.
