Bluearth - Parent Day

The action has continued right up till the end of the year, that's for sure!

Today we invited our parents to participate in a Bluearth session. We were thrilled to not only have parents, but also grandparents, brothers and sisters along.

We shared several games and activities, and also shared our important values:
1) be your own umpire
2) no fussing
3) try your best

We started with some warm-ups with Mrs Bennett. We played Wasp and Everybody's It. It sure did warm us up!

We followed that up with a game of Dodgeball with Mr Beck. It was adults vs kids. The adults won. That is, unless you ask the kids!

We finished with a focus on breathing and yoga with Mrs Newman.

We have had a fabulous year of Bluearth and the principles underlying the program help us in our classroom and in our everyday lives. Thanks, Mr Beck, for leading us in Bluearth this year.

Market Day 3 - 2J

What an experience Market Week has been! 2J wrapped up the week with another fabulous market. They had new and inventive ideas, arts, crafts and, of course, more delicious food! Teachers were delighted that children's money knowledge improved remarkably throughout the week - particularly in their accuracy in giving simple change. Students were motivated in their learning and it was a wonderful, authentic experience (despite the money being fake!)

Once again,  a HUGE THANKS goes to everybody who helped at home to make our markets so impressive. Teachers REALLY APPRECIATE the time and money that went into the creation of many market stalls. We are hoping that you enjoyed some quality time with your child in helping them to prepare their goods. Market Week was right up there in the top highlights of the year, and it will remain in a wonderful memory for many years to come.

Market Day 2 - 2B

2B had a ball conducting their Market Day on Wednesday, December 7th. Shoppers' hard earned money was wisely spent, and profits came rolling in, so everyone was happy! Once again there was a wide variety of goods and services available and shopkeepers did a roaring trade. Some children had very creative ideas and learnt a new skill in the process. There was much input from helpers at home, who once again sent along home baking to make mouths water!

Well done, 2B! And enormous thanks for all of the help from home.
